CODE OF ETHICS

A purple sunset    To promote quality standards of wildlife care by education, research and serendipitous means.

To practice stewardship of nature based on principles of conservation, preservation, and grassroots action.

To teach and be taught by the most informed studies and practiced skills in the fields of wildlife rehabilitation and conservation.

To respect and welcome the human diversity in volunteers' and friends' ideas and ideals, philosophies and politics, expertise or inexperience as well as the diversity that empowers nature, to enrich and expand wildlife conservation.

To maintain the highest standards in safety and hygiene for both wildlife and volunteers.

To incorporate area veterinarians & biologists as advisors for performing necessary diagnostic medicine & habitat study to insure the highest quality care for our wild patients.

To record clear, detailed and accurate accounts of all conservation and rehabilitation efforts on a case by case basis for evidence of need to modify our activities; for reporting anomalies or successes or other data to our licensing agencies, other rehabilitators and our network of supporters, volunteers and conservation organizations.

To acquiesce for a moment each day before the majestic power, the serene beauty and the infinite mystery of all that is wild.

What lies before us and what lies after us are tiny matters
when compared to what lies within us.

Ralph Waldo Emerson

cares a whole lot
nothing is going to get better.
It's not.
