WHY WE REHABILITATE

Orphaned Squirrel We rehabilitate wildlife because it is the "Humane Response" to the injuries and orphans caused by conflicts between wildlife and humans. These conflicts are usually caused by vehicles, pets, pesticides, window strikes, electrocution, and other non-natural obstacles to nesting and feeding habits.

We rehabilitate wildlife to educate our communities. No one is more responsive to learning about wildlife than the person who walks into a rehab or nature center with an injured or orphaned creature in her hands.

Orphaned Barred Owl We rehabilitate wildlife to track the health of local wildlife populations, which are primary barometers of the ecological health of an area.

We rehabilitate wildlife out of respect for "Creation". Species living and long extinct support our way of life.

We rehabilitate wildlife because a diverse gene pool is critical for a species adaptation to ever changing circumstances. You never know what wild creature holds the beginnings of a resistance to an environmental toxin.

Injured Screech Owl We rehabilitate wildlife to connect us spiritually with our natural world. It is a prayer for "Creation" each time we release a bird into the air. It is our affirmation of the value of freedom each time we send a squirrel up into the trees or a beaver back into the pond.

These are our offerings as a testimony
of the verity of "Creation".
